iPhone 8 unlikely to cost $1000 as rumored earlier

This could be a great relief for iPhone lovers as according to earlier rumors which were floating on the internet, the customers were needed to pay more than $1000 for premium iPhone 8 but the latest report points that it is unlikely to cost $1000.

Milunovich via CNBC claimed that the price of iPhone 8 would be well under $1000 giving the iPhone 8 lover a big relax because the rumors were not only particularly talking about it costing $1000 but more than that. The cost of this most awaited smartphone was said to be falling in the price range of $1000-$1200 that would have put it in same price category as Macbook.

It was being said that the cost of iPhone 8 would be higher than normal pricing of a new iPhone because of the use of OLED display and 3D touch sensors but according to latest report, though the production cost of iPhone 8 is $70-$90 extra than the siblings iPhone 7s and iPhone 7 Plus, it wouldn’t go upto $1000 mark.

iPhone 8 costAccording to 9to5mac, Milunovich claims that the cost of iPhone 8 would fall under the price range of $850-$900 to the customers for base model (64 GB).

The iPhone 8 is said to be releasing in the first/second week of September this year along with two siblings iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus marking 2017 a special year by releasing three different versions of iPhone in a single event. Moreover, 2017 also marks the 10th anniversary of legendary iPhone that was first released back in 2007.

The iPhone 8 will come as premium phone with AMOLED edge-to-edge display that doesn’t need backlighting, 3D sensors that will be used for unlocking iPhone 8, bazel-less design and without a traditional HOME Button. The Home button will be in-built on the screen and with pressure sensitive technology, it will give similar feeling as pressing a physical button.

The latest 32 GB iPhone 7 Plus costs about $769 in the US, hence the price range of $850-$900 for iPhone 8 which might be having features like ALOMED screen and 3D sensors wouldn’t disappoint the customers. The cost of rivalry Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ which were announced some time back cost $720 and $840 respectively in spite of the fact that they don’t offer as much features as iPhone 8 would do.

This is a good new for the crazy customers as we are still long ahead of launch of iPhone 8 but the whole world is buzzed with rumors about this upcoming iPhone. For those who don’t want to spend this much of money, they can go for iPhone 7s or iPhone 7s Plus that will cost lesser than iPhone 8, probably hundred bucks less.

But as per my personal thinking, I’d go for the premium version although I have to pay some extra money. However, it is being said that the all the customers might not get this premium phone just after its release because of shortage of supply. In that case, they need to wait till the company floats enough units of iPhone 8 in the market by end of the year.

We’ve seen that whenever a new iPhone is ready to launch, the customers start to stand in ques outside of Apple stores to grab the latest iPhone as soon as possible, it shows the craze of iPhone! But this time some customers might get disheartened as it is being said the first preference would be given to the customers who will pre-order it online. If you want to get it as soon as it gets announced, be ready to pre-order online !
